Do you sell new books?

At this time, we specialize in used books. Occasionally, we may carry new titles from local authors or special selections.

Trade-Ins, Store Credit & Consignment 

Do you buy books from customers?

Yes! We offer a trade-in program that provides store credit for books we’re able to accept. Not all books are eligible, and acceptance depends on condition, genre, and current inventory needs.

What types of books do you accept for trade-in?

We typically accept gently used fiction and nonfiction in good condition. We do not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, outdated reference materials, or books with heavy damage, mold, or odors.

Is there a limit to how many books I can bring in?

Yes. To keep the process manageable, we ask that trade-ins be limited to a handful per visit. Please check in-store or ask before bringing a large quantity.

How can I use my store credit?
Store credit may be applied to up to 50% of a purchase. Any remaining balance must be paid with cash or card. This helps us continue offering fair trade-in value while keeping the shop sustainable. 

Do you offer consignment?

Yes, on a limited basis. Consignment is typically reserved for local authors and creators. Please contact us before bringing items in to discuss availability and terms. 

Coffee, Drinks, and Food 

Do you serve coffee and other drinks?

Yes! We offer coffee, hot tea, iced coffee, hot chocolate, soda, and water.

Do you serve food?

We do not serve prepared food. However, we do offer a small selection of prepackaged snacks for purchase, in addition to our coffee and drinks.

Can I browse with a drink?

Absolutely. We just ask that drinks are handled carefully around the books.

Visiting the Shop 

Do you have seating?

Yes, we offer limited seating for reading, relaxing, or enjoying your drink.

Is Raven Book Haven a quiet space?

We aim to provide a calm, welcoming environment. While not a silent space, it’s designed for relaxed browsing, reading, and conversation.

Is the shop family-friendly?

Yes. Readers of all ages are welcome.

Is the shop accessible?

We do our best to make the space welcoming and accessible. If you have specific needs, feel free to reach out ahead of your visit.

Gifts & Extras 

Do you sell gift certificates?

Yes! Gift certificates are available in-store and make a perfect gift for book lovers.

Do you carry bookmarks, totes, or other merchandise?

Yes. We offer a selection of bookish merchandise and small gifts, which may vary throughout the year.

Policies & Practical Info 

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and major credit/debit cards.

Do you charge sales tax?

Yes, applicable sales tax is charged in accordance with Pennsylvania law.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Due to the nature of used books, all sales are final. If there’s an issue with a purchase, please speak with us.  We’re always happy to help when we can.

Can I reserve a book?

We may be able to hold items for a short time. Please ask in-store or contact us.
